James started creating a scenery of Amsterdam for X-Plane v4 and stopped the project at the release of v5.
Koen discovered James' scenery and wanted to pick up where James left off and asked James to help him. So together they created a version that would work on X-Plane v5. Later they wanted to take the scenery to a higher level and create a scenery for the whole of the Netherlands. This would appear to be a project that was huge, and slow in development because of a lack of time. During X-Plane v7, the XSquawkbox plug-in came out, giving the option to fly on-line with others and even join the Microsoft Flightsim community via VATSIm and IVAO. At this stage Michel and Henk joined the team. The four of them continued working on the scenery. Michel specialized on the buildings, Henk focused on the Fokker Aircraft while James and Koen did the ground textures. A lot happened but not as fast as X-Plane had developed itself. Together they made a proper version of the NL scenery which works on X-Plane v8.5 and v9, although unforunately it doesn't span the whole of the Netherlands). |
